Immigrant Ministries was birthed in 2008 after what seemed to be a chance encounter with an Israeli woman. Afterward, Myrna Buhr felt God calling her to minister to the immigrant population.

Within a few years, she had met many newcomers from a variety of countries and the ministry was growing. Myrna is a jack of all trades, helping with a wide variety of needs. She refers people toward trustworthy tradespeople; collects furniture and household goods; helps with apartment and house hunting; organizes game nights, hayrides, tobogganing, gym events, Christmas parties, activity days at the farm, English classes for adults and children, and cooking classes.

At every event the Gospel is presented. In all that God has given her to do, she has learned to grab every opportunity to speak to people about Christ. Myrna has copies of “Find God” New Testaments, and she invites recipients to call her with any questions. She also has Bibles in different languages and at Easter and Christmas she has books that explain the true meaning of these holidays. First though, she meets their needs in very practical ways.
